Uncle Greg has produced part 1 of 7 short Youtube videos showing how to tie PIKE FLIES. This one is the Roach - This clearly shows the amount of work that goes into producing these little works of art. You can find the other parts through youtube.

Two new Pike Flies have been added to our pike fly fishing attractor range. These are the Derwent Devil and the Gerd Muller. Both are catching well on the Derwent at the moment.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The weather hasn't been brilliant for pike fly fishing over the last few weeks. The waters are a little murky and it's been cold. Blithfield Res opens up it's gates for anglers in 3 weeks time and I for one and very excited at the prospect of a few big pike on the fly. The rivers have been good for numbers of pike, and the quality of the fish has been superb, but river caught pike tend to be smaller than res caught fish, but they still fight well!

I remain convinced that we will have a large 30 if not a 40 this year. I have Chew Valley on the Doorstep and Greg Has Blithfield on his. How much better placed could we be for pike fly fishing?

Keep an eye over the next few weeks for Greg's Guided Pike fly fishing trips. He will be taking bookings over the next few months. If you want to get ahead of the game you can always contact Greg on the above number, or via email.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Greg has produced the first of what will soon be many tutorials on Pike Fly Tying.

This one is called the 5 Minute Pike Fly, and is tied using our range of pike fly materials. Enjoy!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have updated our range of pike flies with some fantastic new imitative patterns and some funky attractor patterns.

All of these flies have been tied using our new range of pike fly body materials

We also have a new range of gills and eyes for blinging up your pike fly patterns.

Strelley and Scalesy also got bored over the christmas period as all the lakes had frozen over. They took some time out from their heavy schedule of tea drinking and mince pie eating to make their first youtube video in the snow.

It shows off the casting ability of our pike fly rod the Pikesaber. . . . . and to be perfectly honest it's a pretty good effort. Well done lads!

You can watch it here - - -

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A short time ago at a trout lake not far away. . . . .

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  two friends (and relatives) went fishing for pike on the fly.

Realising that they were inadequately equipped for the task of pike fly fishing they set about looking for tackle that was specifically designed for the pike fly fisherman. Sure, there were products on the market that said they were pike fly rods and reels, but upon inspection these turned out to be little more than 9 and 10 weight fly rods. Great for casting a line on a reservoir into a heavy wind, but not adequate for the punishment of pike fly fishing.

The other end of the spectrum was tarpon rods and sea reels. Too heavy for playing a pike and too expensive for us. I can only imagine how one may feel after trapping a £650 rod in a car door, or dropping it, off ones yacht. . . .

So Piketrek was born. We sought out new products, tested them, refined them and now we bring them to you, our friend and fellow anglers.

This has not been without peril. We have seen a lot of rubbish, and we have yet to find a supplier of quality reels. This is why you won't see a pike fly reel on the site. . . . yet . . . .

Once we do you can rest assured that it will afford the same quality as our flagship product, the PIKESABER.

Tight Lines,

Team Piketrek.
