X-RAY Superfine tying thread is a clear monofilament polymer thread that is perfect for the construction of all pike and saltwater predator flies.

There's nothing new in this stuff, in fact it's been used for donkey's years by fly tyers from all over the planet, but this is the best and most consistent of all the brands that I have used over the years. It may be a teeny-weeny little bit more expensive than some of the haberdasher's brands but quality is always worth paying for in my opinion.

Takes on Final Overcoat and Mr. Bond beautifully without any weakening, and is stronger than some of the other brands available when tying materials down tight. The clear nature of this thread lets the materials underneath show through after varnish and/or head cement, disposing of the need for different-coloured threads for tying with.

Superb stuff, all of my own flies are tied using it so I have no hesitation in recommending it to all. 

If you are unfamiliar with mono threads you may find it takes a little while to get used to, but after you have been using it for a while you will soon appreciate the benefits that it provides.

Supplied on cotton-reel sized bobbins containing 200 metres of thread. You will need to use a ceramic-lined bobbin-holder and bend the arms out slightly to accommodate the bigger-than-normal spool.

Goes miles further than standard kevlar/twisted threads, saving you money as well as time and effort.
