TIGER STRIPE SCUD,
Tied on a 4/0 Eagle Claw hook.
5" long lightweight pike lure with loads of attraction in a classic Tiger Stripe pattern. Will fish at any depth on the line density of your choice, although I prefer an intermediate or slow sinker in deep water, and of course a full floating line in water less than eight feet deep.
The light weight of this fly means it is ideal for shallow water over weed, because you can fish it slowly in little jerks and the pike get plenty of time to latch onto it as it passes over the holes where they lie. Dressed to fish slowly with an enticing side to side and up and down wriggling motion on the retrieve. When fishing like this, the pike seem to come from nowhere and smash the fly which leads to a high ratio of hook-ups. Exciting stuff! Put a Tiger in YOUR tank!
