What a great day saturday was! I'd arranged a day on the Trent, pike fly fishing with Will and Craig. Neither of them had been before and only one of them had ever used a fly rod before. Nevertheless they were both full of enthusiasm - and this goes a long way in fishing!

I spent some of the morning helping them to achieve an acceptable cast. A challange that they both rose to - There was plenty of healthy banter and ribbing along the way - and I had set them both up with PIKESABERS, floating lines and imitation patterns - fished on a 5ft leader and wire trace.

As you can see from the video - Before long they were both getting the hang of casting. Maybe not ready for any competitions yet but they certainly had a good time. Even better that Craig caught on his first trip!
