All equipment and food provided along with boat and use of sounder, swim knowledge, bivvy, hot showers, freezer facilities, cold drinks, bait, etc. etc., just turn up and fish if you wish! Drive and survive type bookings also available on a VERY limited basis, for pairs of anglers willing to travel long distances on their own. Good swims guaranteed on this lake!

As you may know - Blithfield Res is one of the premier pike fly waters in the country, and has produced some enormous fish in recent years. The current record for this water is 41lbs 2 ozs, a fish caught by Paul Harvey on a fly back in the nineties!

All you need to supply is a sense of humour, and an open mind.

Greg will be more than happy to guide you through your trip regardless of your fishing background. Whether you are a trout fisherman wanting to try a new species, or a pike fisherman wanting to try a new method or even a novice fisherman wanting to gain some of Greg's 40 years of fishing experience your trip will be one to remember. All he asks is that you have some experience of casting a fly rod.

If you don't then please don't despair as Greg can teach you to cast, although this will take up a lot of your alloted time depending on your aptitude and experience. (It is recommended that beginners first take casting lessons with a qualified instructor. I have taught many people to cast a fly, and even more to improve their casting technique, but I am NOT a qualified casting coach, nor do I ever intend to be as I would much rather take you fishing! Greg.). 

Here are a few words from Greg -

I've been fishing for over 40 years. A good portion of which has been running a guided French Carp Fishing Service. I've fished in every type of water from babbling brooks to giant Reservoirs to the wide open sea.

I have fished with a fly for 38 years in one guise or another, and caught my first pike when I was just 12 years old. As you can see from the pictures times, methods and fish handling has changed a lot since then and I am committed to ensuring a safe, stress-less trip for my clients as well as for the fish that are caught.

I still fish for Carp on occassion but these days I am much happier fishing for Pike on the Fly. It's simpler, just your rod and a few flies rather than tons of kit, and you don't have to sleep in a tent :)

Guiding is just an extension of this. I enjoy teaching people to fish and am currently working with anglers with disabilities as well as the able bodied to help to increase their knowledge as well as my own. There is always something new to learn!
